Alma Flanagan, 73, of Mt. Vernon died 1:15 a.m. Jan. 27, 1999, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.

She was employed at Casey Care Center and later at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in the housekeeping department until failing health.

Mrs. Flanagan was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Olive Branch, a daughter of John and Lois (Dodson) Henderson.

She first married Morgan Cain and then married Eldon Flanagan. Both are deceased.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hopewell Cemetery near Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Addison Sharpe officiating. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Saturday mourning. Friends may call at the Hughey Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Flanagan is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wright and husband Ralph of Braidwood; two sons, Marshall Flanagan and Warren Flanagan, both of Flowery Branch, Ga.; four grandchildren Matt Wright, Tracy Wright, Patrick Wright and wife Laurie and Todd Wright; one brother, Lonnie Henderson and wife Marilee of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Flanagan was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.

She was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
