Martha Fletcher died at age 84; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Martha Amelia Fletcher of Bluford died Thursday at noon. She was 84 years, 11 months and 7 days old at the time of her death.

She was the widow of Frank Fletcher, whom she married more than 68 years ago, and was the daughter of Joseph and Lizzie O'Bannon Britton Newton.

The body was taken to Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, and will be moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Everett Howell in Bluford, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Hickory Hill Baptist church, east of Mt. Vernon, with the Reverend Everett Apgar in charge.

Mrs. Fletcher is survived by three sons, Jess Fletcher, Dayton, Ohio, John of Lockport, Ill., and Robert of Bluford; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Howell, Bluford and Mrs Florence Green of Livermore, Calif. She is also survived by two half-brothers, Bryan Britton of Mt Vernon, and W C Britton of Fort Worth, Texas, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
