Larry Duane Flota, 58 of Mt. Vernon died 1;30 am July 12, 2000 at St. Mary's/Good Samaratian Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Flota was employed for 21 years at Vernios Stove Foundry, then at Hevi-Duty Dowzer for 17 years and was now employed at Cambridge Industries in Centralia.

He was born March 24, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, a son of Coy and Cecil (Rapp) Flota.

He married Judy Ann Hayes on Jan. 5, 1961 in Mt. Vernon; she survives.

Services will be held 1 pm Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Gene Auxier officiating. Burial will be at East Salem Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm. Thursday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, of Mt. Vernon, Mr. Flota is survived by two daugthers, Angela York and Christina Miller and special friend Donnald Fairchild, all of Mt. Vernon; one son, Larry Duane Flota II and fiance Maria Ulloa of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Brock York, Jadie York, Jordan York, Jerry Lee Miller, Tiffany Miller, Christin Miller, Haley Fairchild, Corey Fairchild and Donnie Fairchild, his father and stepmother, Coy and Ruth Flota of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Jim Flota and wife Ruby of Effingham; several aunts, uncles and cousins; three brothers -in- laws, Jim Hayes and wife Shirley, Terry Hayes adn wife Judy and Randy Hayes and wife Vicki, all of Mt. Vernon; and sister-in-law, Shirley Reeker and husband Fred of Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Flota was a longtime member of East Salem Baptist Church, which was speical in his life and where he worshiped in his own quiet way. He was very much a family man, loving his children and grandchildren in a special kind way, and was very interested in their happiness.

He was preceded in death my his mother, Cecil; grandparents Dottie and Clayton Rapp, who raised Mr. Flota in their home; and his mother and father -in-law, Reatha and John Hayes.

For those who wish, memorial may be made to East Salem Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home. Funeral Services are under the direction of Hughey Funeral Home, where you may call at 242-3348
