Milton Ford
WORKER KILLED ON BROADWAY PAVING JOB Milton L. Ford, 62, of 224 Grant street was instantly killed when he was run over by a heavily loaded truck just before noon today while workong on the paving project at Second and Broadway. The truck, loaded with sand and cement for the big mixing machine, was backing up when it hit and ran over Mr. Ford. The driver of the truck did not see him until after the heavy truck has passed completely over his body. Officers who investigated the fatal accident said Mr. Ford had been working on forms shortly before the mishap. The body was taken to the Pulley Funeral Home. Mr. Ford was born July 3, 1899 in Mt. Vernon, the son of William and Rosella (Bradford) Ford. He was married, in St. Charles, Mo.; to Helen Bodine, who survives. Mr. Ford was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kleeta Francis of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Frances Gilardi of Chicago; six brothers, W. A. Lincoln and Harrd Ford of Mt. Vernon, Edward and Charles Ford of Auburn, Ill., and John Ford of Bicknell, Ind.; and two sisters, Grace Hurt of Mt. Vernon and Betha Anson of California; and seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were incomplete this afternoon.
