Lester H. Ford Dies Suddenly; Funeral Tuesday Lester H. Ford, Route 1, died suddenly at his home at 1:45pm Saturday at age of 51 years, nine months and 14 days. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday at the Pully-Gutzler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Shannon officiating. The body will lie in state at the Pully-Gutzler Funeral Home where friends may call after 4pm today. Mr. Ford was born September 20, 1912, in Hebron, Illinois, the son of Ed and Jessie (Tannahill) Ford. He was married, in 1932, to Edith Phelps who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jesse Ford, Mt. Vernon; a son, Virgil Ford; a daughter, Frances Philbrick, Minot, N.Dak.; and four grandchildren. Mr. Ford is survived by three brothers, Charles Ford, Nashville, Ray Ford, and Seth (Sonny) Ford, both of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters, Aline Rell, St. Louis, Mo and Maxine Cox, Union City, Tenn. He was a veteran of World War II.
