Onida Greer Francis, 94, of Mt. Vernon died 10:45 p.m. Jan. 26, 2005, at Jeffersonian Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Francis was born Oct. 14, 1910, in Belle Rive to James A. and Ida Pearl (Topping) Kern.

She first married Mark Greer Sept. 5, 1929, in Effingham; he died Feb. 13, 1957.

She later married James A. Francis Oct. 7, 1957, in Mt. Vernon; he died Aug. 8, 1986.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Francis is survived by a son, James Mark Greer and wife Janet of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Marion Whitlock and husband Max of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Mark Greer and wife Melinda of Dayton, Ohio, Frank Greer and wife Billie of Hopkinsville, Ky., Laura Seidel and husband Jerry of Belle Rive, Rebecca Ritter and husband Kevin of Heyworth and Gina Fletcher and husband Scott of Fenton, Mo.; and great-grandchildren Corey Seidel, Elizabeth Ritter, Ben Ritter, Sarah Ritter, Luke Seidel and Greg Seidel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a grandson, Max Brand Whitlock; two brothers, Arthur Kern and Renzo Kern; and a sister, Edith Enlow.

Mrs. Francis was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.
