Debra J. "Debbie" Chambliss, 40, of Mt. Vernon, died 12:14 a.m. June 23, 1999, at St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was employed at the Mt. Vernon Register-News for several years.

Born Oct. 18, 1958, in Mt. Vernon, she was a daughter of Leo George and Wilma J. (Lemay) Franklin, who survive.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Wolfe officiating.

In accordance with the wishes of Debra, no public visitation will be held. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery Thursday afternoon.

In addition to her parents, of Mt. Vernon, survivors include a son, Jason Irwin of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Stacy Irwin of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Larry E. Franklin of Mt. Vernon; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Debra was preceded in death by her grandparents.
