Lottie Viola (Dunavan) Friar
Lottie Viola Friar, 88, of Ina died 12:40 p.m. Jan. 4, 1998, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. Mrs. Friar was born July 27, 1909, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Samuel and Nora (Evans) Dunavan. Oct. 17, 1933, in Jefferson County, she married George Friar, who died July 15, 1959. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. David Shores and the Rev. Geoff Bond officiating. Burial will be in Hams Grove Cemetery, Belle Rive. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Johnston Funeral Home and after noon Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Friar is survived by one son, Johnnie Friar and wife June of Ina; one daughter, Mary Schlag and husband Philip of Belle Rive; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Dunavan and wife Lena of Centralia. Mrs. Friar was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, three infant children, three brothers and one sister. She was a member of Ina Free Will Baptist Church.
