John M. Fuqua, Retired Grocer Dies At Age 84

John Mathew Fuqua, of 1515 Broadway, a retired grocer, died Sunday afternoon at 12:15 o'clock in Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was 84y, 5m and 13d of age.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pulley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. A. M. Pelletier will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Gardens. The body willl lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 o'clock this afternoon.

Mr. Fuqua was born in Hamilton County on April 7, 1875, the son of Harvey M. and Maggie (Springer) Fuqua.

He married Evelyn Smith, who survives.

He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

Surviving, besides his wife, is one daughter, Opal Fuqua of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Luetta Thomas and Cannie Lasater of Springerton, IL and Estella Greenleaf of Chicago.
