Bethaito - Amos Gifford. 80, of Bethalto, a former resident of Jefferson county, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday at Yinger Nursing Home in Bethaito.

Mr. Gifford was born in Jefferson county on Dec. 29, 1892. the son of Judson and Delia (Newton) Gifford.

He was a former employee of the Mt. Vernon Car Co.

He was married to Delia Warren, who died May 5, 1972.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p m at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. C. J. Ketteman (sic.) officiating. Burial will be in Liberty cemetery at Ewing. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Gifford is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Aria Powell. Bethaito: two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
