Roy H. Gilbert Dies At Hospital

Robert H. Gilbert of 1304 south 18th street, died at 12:50 a.m. today at Good Samaritan hospital, at the age of 73 years, seven months and nine days.

Mr. Gilbert moved from near Spring Garden to Mt. Vernon about four months ago.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday in Myers Chapel at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Riley Burton and burial will take place at Knob Prairie cemetery.

A retired farmer, Mr. Gilbert was born December 7, 1871 in Waltonville, the son of S.B. and Mary A. (Rightnowar) Gilbert.

He was united in marriage to Mary C. Lennington, April 1, 1894 who survives.

Six sons, Harvey, Harrisonburg, Va.; Bryan D., Sesser; Harry, Opdyke; Neal, Mt. Vernon; Leonard, Bonnie; Eugene, Ina; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hart, Waltonville; Mrs. Beulah Pitchford, Nason;Miss Alice, at home, a brother, Hiram of Pharr, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Ida Black, Waltonville; 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also survive.

Three children preceded him in death.

The body will remain at Myers Chapel.
