Ellen Delores Mae Gillam, 46, of Fairfield, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 7:45 p.m. Dec. 12, 1999, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Fairfield.

Mrs. Gillam was a homemaker. She was born June 30, 1953, in Mt. Vernon to Delmar and Katheryn (Cochran) Farthing.

She married Floyd D. Gillam on June 25, 1973, in St. Louis; he survives.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Old Union Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, with the Rev. Merritt Strickland officiating. Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the cemetery Wednesday morning. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gillam is survived by a son, David Gillam of Fairfield; a daughter, Martinia Gillam of Fairfield; two sisters, Evelyn Wright and husband Kenny of Fairfield and June Richardson and friend Ray of Opdyke; three brothers, Bob Farthing and wife Minnie of Mt. Vernon, Paul Farthing and wife Marsha of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Gary Farthing and friend Teresa of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gillam was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph Farthing; one niece, Katheryn Tweedy; and one nephew, Loren Farthing.
