James W. Glasco
James W. Glasco of Bonnie died March 13, 2005, at 4:30 a.m. at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Missouri, the son of Perry and Ethel Glasco. He married June Leonard on Nov. 15, 1947, in Arkansas; she survives in Bonnie. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with Rev. Jesse Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother Melvin Glasco, sister Mary Casey, sisters-in-law Loretta Strattan and Betty Stevenson, and parents-in-law Charles and Fern Leonard. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Glasco is survived by sister Betty Isaacs and husband Carl of Bonnie; sister-in-law Chesta Glasco of Denver, Colo.; daughter Elizabeth Beard and husband Bobby Sr. of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Craig Beard of Bonnie, Amanda May and husband Stephen of Waltonville, Bobby Beard of Mt. Vernon and Susan Sawyear and husband Allen of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Alexis and A.J. of Centralia, Katie Jenna and Michael May of Waltonville, Candace, Meghan and Tyler of Mt. Vernon and Marybeth Beard of Mt. Vernon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. Mr. Glasco delivered oxygen for American Welding Supply for 23 years. He was a member of the Ina Methodist Church and a 32nd-degree Mason. He was also a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45 and received a medical discharge.
