Dr. Thomas B Glazebrooks, life long resident of Spring Garden, died at his home there Friday.

Dr. Glazebrooks was born February 23, 1863 and was 71 years, 9 months and 14 days of age.

He is survived by his widow, and two sons, Otis Glazebrooks of Alton, Lee Glazebrooks, residing here; three daughters, Mrs Lottie Jones of Barnsdall, Okla., Miss. Nitah Sweeten and Mrs. Lova Farmer, residing here. He is also survived by three brothers, Joe Glazebrooks of California, George Glazebrooks of Takoma, Washington and Harry Glazebrooks of Danville; and two sisters, Mrs Anna Hall of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Louise Laird of Calif.

The Glazebrooks have been prominent in the affairs of this community, from its early pioneer settlement up to the present time.

Dr. Glazebrooks was the son of Joseph Glazebrooks who is remembered by our older citizens.

Dr. Glazebrooks served in the quartermaster department in Cuba during the Spanish American War. He always took interest in handling stock and some years ago took a weterinary course and prepared himself for that profession. His services were in demand to such an extent that he had built up an extensive practice.

Dr. Glazebrooks in early life took an active interest in he political affairs of his community. He voted all his life after reaching his majority in Spring Garden precient-a period of fifty years. He was a life long Democrat and held various local offices amoung them commissioner of highways. He took a great interest in road building and during his official tenture, kept the highways under his jurisdiction in a state of efficiency.

Dr. Glazebrooks was always ready to respond to the needs of his fellow man. It has been said by those who knew him best, that no man in Spring Garden Township has set up with as many sick people as he. In spite of bad weather, muddy roads or the darkness of the night, he was always ready to minister to those in trouble, illness or misfortune. He was a good man in his family and was always ready to provide for their comfort and happiness.

In the death of Dr. Glazebrooks, the community has lost a good neighbor and a useful citizen.

Funeral was held at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church, Sunday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Roshier Spurlock. The obituary was prepared by A. N. Turner. Burial followed at the Kirk Cemetery.
