Rev. David Goddard

Rev. David GODDARD of Mt. Vernon, well known Baptist minister, died Sunday morning at his home. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. Goddard was a former grocer and was formerly employed at the Mt. Vernon car shops. He had been a minister for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Amanda TUCKER; one daughter, Doris SEYMOUR of St. Louis; one brother, Albert Ray of Clarksville, Tenn.; and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, conducted by Dr. Wm. A. GRAY and Rev. Carl WHITTINGTON. Interment was at Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. David GODDARD, a well known Baptist minister, died at 3:30 Sunday morning at his home, 300 North Seventh Street. (Mt. Vernon) The Rev. GODDARD, a minister for 25 years and a former grocer and car shop employee, was 57y2m3d of age. At the time of his death he was pastor of the New Salem Church in Hamilton County and the Pleasant Valley Church near Galatia.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Carl WHITTINGTON and Dr. William A. GRAY will officiate and burial will follow in Memorial Gardens. Masonic services will be conducted. Friends may call at Myers Chapel at any time. At noon Tuesday the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour.

The Rev. Mr. GODDARD was born August 25, 1901 in Jefferson Co. the son of Henry and Minnie (ATCHISON) GODDARD.

In 1922 he married in Mt. Vernon, to Amanda TUCKER, who survives.

Mr. GODDARD was a member of A.F. & M. Lodge No. 31.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Doris SEYMOUR of St. Louis; one brother Albert Ray of Clarksville, Tenn. and two granddaughters.
