Gale GOESSMAN of Los Angeles, Calif., former resident of this community, died suddenly there last Thursday while driving an auto. He was 50 years old.

Mr. GOESSMAN spent his early life in this neighborhood. He then resided in East Alton for many years before locating to California.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jennie GOESSMAN of Ina; his wife, the former Pearl CLINTON; two sons, Billy Gale of Wood River, and Jackie, stationed in Germany while serving in the Army; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce JONES of Norris City; one sister, Mrs. Hazel HICKS of Decatur; and four grandchildren.

The body is being brought here for burial. Funeral arrangements were incomplete as we went to press.
