Sylvia (Miller) Gossage

Mrs. Sylvia Gossage of 1810 south Ninth street died at 4:45 pm yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 66 years, two months and 28 days old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Pulley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 pm tomorrow.

Mrs. Gossage was born Oct. 10, 1894 in Hamilton county, the daughter of Lyman and Ruth (Polen) Miller.

In 1915, in McLeansboro, she was married to Sherman Gossage, who survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Lester Gossage of Rockford, William Gossage of Mt. Vernon and Thomas Gossage of Belvidere, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Phillips and Mrs. Maxine Haynes of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Virginia Pittman of Belvidere; four brothers, Charles and Bill Miller of Mt. Vernon, Ullyses Miller of McLeansboro and Thomas Miller of Mulkeytown; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.

Mrs. Gossage was a member of the Penecostal Church.
