Granville Gowler

Granville Gowler, 82, of Opdyke died 10:38 a.m. April 11, 2003, at his home.

He managed a state-owned campground in Iowa and also installed septic tanks.

Mr. Gowler was born July 11, 1920, in Jefferson County to Earl and LaVina (Scott) Gowler.

He married June Caukings; she preceded him in death.

There will be no funeral services held at this time. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Gowler is survived by a daughter, Debbie Baltzell and husband Delbert of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Aline Theberg of Albion; several nieces and nephews including Doug Gowler and wife Cathy of Opdyke; and two great-nephews, Jeremy Miller and Cory Gowler, both of Opdyke.

Mr. Gowler served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion in Sulfur, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister, Georgia Cox.
