Raymond Greear Funeral at Dix

Raymond Greear, a former resident of Mt. Vernon and Dix, died Monday morning in El Paso, Texas at the age of 53 years, 11 months and 12 days.

The body will be taken to Dix for funeral services, arriving there late tonight.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm. at the Osborn Funeral home in Dix, with the Rev. Sam McCoy officiating , assisted by the Rev. Lester Riley. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetary, south of Dix. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral home in Dix, where friends may call at any time after 5:00 pm. Saturday.

Mr. Greear was born September 17, 1895, the son of W.H. and Zora (Williams) Greear.

In 1916 he was married to Lela Bruce, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, W.H. Greear of Mt. Vernon; a son, Blanchard, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three daughters, Mrs. Velma Sammons and Mrs. William Stewart of Mt.Vernon and Mrs. Glenda McHatton of Indianapolis, Ind.

A son, Dale, lost his life during World War II.
