Arthur "Red" Green
Waltonville - Arthur "Red" Green, 69, of Waltonville, a retired coal miner, died at 10:10 a.m, Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Green was born In Jefferson County on May 8, 1901, the son of Rufus and Edith (Rutherford) Green. On Nov. 8, 1946, he was married to Irene (Loman) Hall, who survives. A veteran of Worid War II. Mr, Green was a member of VFW Post 9153, Waltonville Amvets Turner Rhoem Post 4, Mt, Vemon and the Ashley Sportsmen's Club. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville, with the Rev. Floyd Hartley officialing. Burial will be in Knob Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p. m. today. In addition to his wife, Irene, Mr. Green Is survived by one son. Buddy Hall, Waltonville; two daughters, Mrs. Noble (Sharon) Chiapelli, Waltonville, and Mrs. Gary (Joyce) Robinson, Sesser; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one grandson.
