Cora Belle Green Dies Here Today Rites Wednesday

Mrs. Cora Belle Green, of 300 Harrison street, died at 1:20 this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past four days.

She was a former resident of Bluford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Sam McCoy will officiate and burial will be in East Hickory Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 2:00 pm Tuesday.

Mrs. Green was born August 27, 1879 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Will A. and Mary (Brookman) Sammons.

She was married to John R. Green, who preceded her in death November 29, 1938.

She was a member of East Hickory Hill church.

Surviving are one daughter, Gladys Wood of Mt. Vernon; three sons, Travis of Bluford and Wayne of Waltonville; two step-daughters, Lela Riemerschneider of Marshalltown, Ia.; and Maude Adams of Bluford; a step-son, James Green of Ames, Ia.; three brothers, Claude, Clyde and Homer, all of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Laura Price of Texico and Ethel Bullard of Mt. Vernon; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one step-daughter, one sister and one brother.
