Helen B. Green, 98, of Bluford died 5:55 a.m. Jan. 3, 2006, at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was a retired after working for 37 years as a teacher in the Jefferson County schools.

Mrs. Green was born March 23, 1907, in Bluford to John E. and Addie (Driskill) Bean.

She married Travis G. Green in Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1934; he preceded ehr in death on Wednesday, May 28, 1975.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in rural Jefferson County. For those wishing to attend the service, you are asked to go directly to the graveside. The Rev. Gale Breeze will officiate.

There will be no public visitation.

Mrs. Green is survived by a sister-in-law, Opal Green of Alpine, Tenn. Several Nieces, nephews and cousin also survive.

Her parents, two brothers, Watler Bean and Glen Bean, and five sisters, Erma Brown, Delia Gowler, Edna Wood, Marie McPherson and Dorothy Fleming, preceded her in death.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to Campground Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church and at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
