Vesta Lorene GREER, 86, of Mt. Vernon died 4:45 a.m. March 11, 1998, at Frazier Manor, Centralia. She was employed at the L & N Cafe with Mr. Bill HICKS for many years.

Mrs. GREER was born April 18, 1911, in Waltonville, a daughter of Van and Bessie (DALBY) BLACK.

In 1929, in Franklin County, she married Joseph B. GREER, who died August 29, 1973.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home.

Mrs. GREER is survived by one daughter, Edna Marie GREER of Centralia; one son, Joseph (Joe) R. GREER of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Bill BLACK of Arizona; a sister, Wilma HINRICK of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. GREER was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.

She was a member of Elk Prairie Christian Church.
