Lena Faye (Russell) Crowley Gregory
Lena Faye Gregory, 78, of Mt. Vernon died 7:15 p.m. June 22, 2001, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Gregory was born April 13, 1923, in Jefferson County to Marshall and Ethel (Pigg) Russell. She married Leonard Crowley and later married Ruhlin Gregory on Aug. 29, 1953, in Mt. Vernon; he died May 28, 1974. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday evening. She is survived by a stepson, Tom Gregory of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Vicky J. Owens of Mt. Vernon; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Dial, of Mt. Vernon; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Gregory of Mt. Vernon and Bernice Gregory of Irvington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marshall E. Gregory; a daughter, June “Junie” Crowley; two brothers, Ralph Russell and Norval Russell; and two sisters, Alma Tapp and Martha F. Chamberlain. She was a member of Casey Avenue Baptist Church.
