Doris Mae (True) Gresham, 71, of Mt. Vernon, died at 7:33 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born on May 16, 1937, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Bert and Sylvia (Bland) True.

On Oct. 28, 1955, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Ross Partridge, she married Gene Gresham; he survives in Mt.Vernon.

Mrs. Gresham was a homemaker and member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She attended school at Ebenezer and Williams schools.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jerry Gresham and wife Rhonda of Texico; a daughter, Sharon Overbey and husband Henry of Belle Rive; five grandchildren, David, Jonathan and Nathaniel Gresham, all of Texico, Andrew Overbey of Belle Rive, Tammy Timmons and husband Fred of Mt. Vernon; and three greatgrandchildren, Cameron, Trenton, and Cadin Timmons, all of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Darrell True of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Sandy Bishop of Henderson, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Rick and Kevin Gresham; a brother, Russell True; and father and motherin-law, Tom and Carmen Gresham.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
