Dorothy Nadine Grunder, 80 yr, of Urbana and formerly of Jefferson County, died at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, 13 Oct. 2003, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.

She was born on 27 April 1923, in Bluford, Jefferson Co, IL, daughter of Everett and Ora Mae (Shaw) Burkitt.

She married Wayne Grunder and he preceded her in death. {They were divorced}.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. John Skelton will officiate. Burial will follow in New Home (Lowery) Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.

Mrs. Grunder is survived by three sons, David Grunder and wife Minnie of Bolingbrook, Daniel Grunder and wife Kathy of Colorado, and Anthony Grunder and wife Helene of Johnsburg; daughters, Sandra Olson and husband John of California, Rebecca Jordan and husband Paul of DesPlaines, Shari Peck and husband Jerry of Makena; and Valerie Ailes of California; grandchildren Bryan, Zach, Stacey, Chris, Katy, Matt, Ashton, Katrina, Bill, Nick, Alec, Jake, Nathan and Michael; great-grandchildren Jeremy, Justin, Crystal and Joey; a brother,Lowell Burkitt and wife Betty of Batavia; sisters, Vera Lee Wilcox and husband Guy of Shelbyville, Lela Pierce and husband,Glen of Bluford and Alice French of Mt. Vernon and Ruth Witzel and husband, Lyle, of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Burkitt and Dale Burkitt; a grandchild in infancy; and a brother - in-law, Darrell French.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with John Skelton officiating. Interment will follow at the New Home (Lowery) Cemetery.
