Howard Hale

Howard HALE, 77, of 1011 Lamar Ave. died Wednesday at his home.

He was born January 18, 1915 in Mt. Vernon a son of James Elmer and Sidney Lydia (TITTLE) HALE.

On December 24, 1932, in Benton, He married Charlene PUCKETT and she survives.

He was a Groundman truck driver for Illinois Power for 26 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 7-2 in West Frankfort and was a member of the Moose Lodge # 755 in Mt. Vernon.

Services will be at 11 am Saturday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Emil BLOBAUM, officiating. Burial in Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Friends may call after 6 pm on Friday to the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, he is survives by three sons, James Arthur HALE and wife Donna of MROA, Charles Howard HALE and wife Brenda of Mt. Vernon, and Jeffrey Neal HALE and wife Karen of Whittington, five daughters: Sharon Kay DEAN and husband John of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Sidney Mae LAIRD and husband James of Waltonville, Rosemary KAHTZ and husband Ron of Mt. Vernon, Nancy MASON and husband Rick of Bluford and Ina SWEETIN and husband Doug of Mt. Vernon.

Also 12 grandchildren; Farris Dean WARREN, Donald LAIRD, Allen LAIRD, David MOUNCE, Stephen MOUNCE, Philip HALE, Kristopher MASON, Artie HALE, Bradley HALE, Jacob SWEETIN and Justin SWEETIN; four granddaughters, Melanie LAIRD BAUMAN, Emily HALE, Jennifer KAHTZ and Adria HALE; two great grand sons, Corey DEAN and Jeremy DEAN; one sister Ruth BUTRON and husband Blake of Whittington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
