"Uncle" Hub Haley, a well known citizen living in the vicinity of Idlewood, died at his home last night. He was one of the county's best known residents

(Hubert) Haley was born November 22, 1848. His parents, Schristofer and W. Keroury Haley, came from Germany.

On September 22, 1870 in Lawrence County, Illinois he married Rhoda Catherine, a daughter of Joe and Nancy Hamilton Secrest (Sechrest). Their children were Julia, Charles Alexander, Daisy Minnie and William.
