Samuel Francis Haley
Samuel Francis Haley died at 1:00 pm Friday at his home on the Meadowbrook Road at the age of 57 years, seven months, and 28 days. Mr. Haley was a grocer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Pulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Broundmeier and the Rev. Earl Michels officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 1:00 pm Sunday. Mr. Haley was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Jefferson County, the son of William and Cora (Brookman) Haley. In 1922, he was married to Mayme Nelson, who survives. Other survivors include four sons, Lee Haley, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in England, Sam Haley Jr., of Dwight, Ill., Wilbur Haley of Bluford, and Wayne Haley, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lemay of Dwight, Ill., Mrs. Dorothy Joles of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Mary Runnells of Centralia; four brothers, Jesse Haley of Smithboro, Ill., Lloyd Haley of Carterville, Lawrence Haley of Greenville, and Herman Haley of Waltonville; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Parons of Carlyle, and Mrs. Beulah Fields of West Monroe, La., and 14 grandchildren. Mr. Haley was a member of the Church of The Nazarene.
