Viola (Wetzer) Hancock
Viola V. Hancock, 80, of Mount Carmel and formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 7:29 p.m. March 11, 1992, at her home. Mrs. Hancock was born November 7, 1911, in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of John and Golden (Thompson) Wetzer. She married Howell Hancock, who survives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Mount Carmel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cunningham Funeral Home in Mount Carmel. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hancock is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Cummings of Elkhart, Indiana, and Barbara Allerellie of Marshall; one brother, Bill Wetzer of Opdyke; four sisters, Velma Reed of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Halleen Payne, Ruth Hodges and Anna Marie (Tommy) Hill, all of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hancock was a member of St. Mary's Church in Mount Carmel. She was preceded in death by her parents.
