Hazel M. (Gnevo) Wilson Haney
Hazel M. Haney, 86, of Mt. Vernon died 11:10 p.m. April 19, 2001, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was employed for several years at the Mt. Vernon Garment Factory and also was a school cook in Kansas City for many years. Mrs. Haney was born March 13, 1915, in Mt. Vernon to William and Mary Edith (Hayes) Gnevo. She first married Glenn "Mutt" Wilson and later married Charles H. Haney on June 2, 1962; he died March 28, 1996. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Bob Burton will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening. She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Burton and husband Charles of Mt. Vernon; three sons, Bob Wilson and wife Sandra of Mt. Vernon, Rev. Jerry Wilson and wife Barbara of Robinson and Larry Wilson and wife Jean of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Rory, Shawn, Glenn, Gary, Angie, Vincent, Bob, David and Matt; fifteen great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Beatrice Keeling and husband Bob of Olatha, Kan.; three step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Wilson of Mt. Vernon; also several nieces and nephews survive. Mrs. Haney was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John Gnevo; one infant sister; and one step-grandchild.
