Mary Isabell (Lisenby) Harlow
Aunt Bell Harlow is dead at age 85 Mary Isabell Harlow, 85, died yesterday afternoon at 4:10 o’clock at the home of her son, Angus Harlow in the East Salem neighborhood, northeast of Mt. Vernon. Born near East Salem March 13, 1861, she was the daughter of Abraham and Susan (Humphrey) Lisenby. She was married to W. A. Harlow March 7, 1883. Her husband died several years ago. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Cora Bayne and Angus Harlow of Mt. Vernon and Walter Harlow of Evansville, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Harlow suffered a crippling accident in a fall May 30, 1942. She was the last of a family of six children and was a member of the East Salem Baptist church for more than 50 years. She spent her entire life in the East Salem community where she was known to all as “Aunt Bell.” Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at East Salem, conducted by the Rev. Ross Partridge assisted by the Rev. A. L. (?). Burial will be in the nearby cemetery. The body will be at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix tonight, where friends may call, and will be removed to the Angus Harlow residence tomorrow.
