Shirley N. (Beckham) Hartley, 73, of Waukegan died Oct. 21, 2006.

Shirley was born on Nov. 13, 1932, in Waltonville, to Newman and Nellie Beckham.

Shirley is survived by her children Jessie (Lisa) Jackson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Jimmy Jackson of Zion, and Margaret Skees of Hampton, Va.; grandchildren Lorrie, Nic, Nacoma, and Daniel; brothers Burl Beckham of Paris, Mo., Clyde Beckham of Huntingburg, Ind., Kenny Beckham of Fairfield, Keith Beckham of Bonnie, Charles Beckham of Waltonville, and Art Beckham of Dahlgren; sisters Margaret Fairchild of Mt. Vernon, and Ruth Buford of Memphis, Tenn.; and very good friends Shirley Odom of Winthrop Harbor, and Bob Flory of Waukegan.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2006, at Marshal Funeral Home in Waukegan. Visitation was held from 10 am. to 11 a.m., Oct. 24.
