William M. "Bud" Harvey
William M. "Bud" Harvey, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 5:41 a.m. Dec. 12, 2004, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was a crane operator for Wagner Electric Co. He was also a painter. Mr. Harvey was born July 22, 1922, in Woodlawn to William F. and Iva E. (Fuller) Harvey. He married Ruth A. (Bobinsky) Harvey March 10, 1951, in Arkansas; she died Feb. 15, 1996. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Catherine Cemetery. The Rev. Melvin Larson will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Catherine Cemetery in Woodlawn. There will be a military flag presentation conducted by the chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Tuesday. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Harvey is survived by a daughter, Becky Harvey of Mt. Vernon; sisters Frieda Bierman and husband Ralph of Woodlawn and Wilma Williams of Woodlawn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Kathy Ann Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge in seven foreign countries. He was a member of Mt. Catherine Christian Church in Woodlawn. He was also a member of Mt. Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1376 and the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. He was a board member of the Mt. Catherine Cemetery Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home, where you may call 242-3348 for obituary information at any time.
