The funeral of John W. HARVILL took place from the Christian Church here Tuesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. H. GIBSON, of the First Baptist Church of Payallup preaching the funeral sermon. The services were under auspices of the Woodmen of the World and Circle of Woodcraft, of which orders deceased was a beneficiary member in the first and a social member of the later. Rev. GIBSON is also a member of the W. of W.

The music for the occasion was furnished by a choir composed of Mrs. Stephen RYDER, Mrs. Dr. J. H. CORLISS, Mrs. Geo. HULCE, altos; Mrs. Robt. MONTGOMERY, Miss Mae SUMMERFIELD, Miss Dora MYERS, sopranos; Mr. Peter MYERS & (Mr. A. LINGHAM of Puyallup), basso; and Mr. H. J. TRUBSHAW, tenor. Miss Esther HOVEY at the organ.

The Puyallup Woodman Lodge was represented by a good delegation, who materially assisted in the ritual work at the cemetery, at which place the Woodman service was admirably carried out.

The flowers & wreaths were beautiful. Deceased carried $2,000 life insurance in the Woodmen of the World.

John Willoby HARVILL was born June 27, 1860. He was the son of Anderson & Maletna HARVILL. He grew to manhood on the farm to which his parents moved when he was 3 weeks old, where his aged parents still reside. He was the only son and the eldest of a family of four children. The 3 sisters, two of whom are married, are all living , at or around the old home. They are Mrs. Rosie WILLBANKS, Mrs. Colledia CASEY and Miss Johanna HARVILL.

He was married to Miss Alice WILLIAMS January 1, 1883.

There were born to them 3 sons, Millard Theodore, aged 20; Willis Allen, aged 19; and John Anderson, aged 6.

He emigrated with his family to Cowlitz County, Washington, in the spring of 1889, where he lived on a homestead, after which he moved in the neighborhood of Sumner.

After a lingering illness of over 14 months he passed peacefully away at 7 o'clock p.m. July 24, 1904
