Hannah W. Hayes Dies at 85. Has 150 Descendants Mrs. Hannah Wesley Hayes of 319 East Main Street died at 5:30 am today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar McGhee on Route Six, Mt. Vernon. She was 85 years, one month and six days old. Mrs. Hayes has 150 descendants -- six sons, three daughters, 47 grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Hopewell Baptist Church, northeast of Mt. Vernon, with the Rev. Roy Beal officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix where friends may call after 2:00 pm tomorrow. Mrs. Hayes was born April 1, 1875 in Doniphan, Mo., the daughter of W. C. and Sarah (Baker) Jarrett. On Sept. 30, 1894, she was married to James C. Hayes, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1936. Survivors included six sons, Steve, Ray and John Hayes of Mt. Vernon, Jim Hayes of Flint, Texas, Sam Hayes of St. Louis, and Clifford Hayes of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar McGhee of RFD 6, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Paul Jolly and Mrs. Calvin Monty of Denver, Colo.; 47 grandchildren; 92 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Della Justice of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Stella Ball of St. Louis. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter. Mrs. Hayes was a member of the East Salem Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon
