Della Hayes, 92, Mount Vernon died 3:34 am, June 28, 1993 at Good Samaraitan Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Hayes was a a homemaker.

She was born Aug 9,1900 in Franklin County, a daughter of Jacob and Heneritta (Watson) House.

Jan 21, 1917 in Ripley County, Missouri, she married Steve Hayes, who survives.

Services will be 11 am, Wednesday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hayes is survived by 5 sons, Walter Hayes and wife, Annetia, Thomas J. Hayes and wife, Maxine, James S. Hayes and wife Freeda Lee, Marvin Hayes and wife, Doris, Robbie Hayes and wife, Sharon, all of Mount Vernon, Six daughters, Mrs. Donald (Wanda) Mitchell of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Lowell (Marie) Pierce of Bluford, Mrs. Bob (Irene)Madlem of Owensboro, KY. Mrs. Robert (Barbara Jean) Graham of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Robert (Phyliss) Crowe of Fostoria, Ohio and Mrs. Loren (Betty) Brumley of Mount Vernon; 48 grandchildren; 86 great grandchildren and 32 great, great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hayes attended school in rural Ripley County, Missouri. She was a memeber of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, 6 sisters and one son, Stevie Hayes.
