Edna Lou Hayes, 80, of Kell, Illinois passed away at 4:50 P.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Edna was born on Thursday, June 21, 2015 in Benton, Illinois the daughter of the late Willard and Madaline (Wilson) Downen. She was first married to Charles Leffler and he survives. She married William Robert "Bill" Hayes and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2003.

Surviving family members include her chosen son: Richard Ross of Kell, Illinois; sons: Charles Ray Leffler and wife Heidi of Vincennes, Indiana and Jack Leffler and wife Cindi of Andover, New Jersey; chosen daughters: Jessica Bryan and husband Jim of Salem, Illinois and Denice Racine of Chesterfield, Missouri; brother: Harold Downen and wife Karen of Royalton, Illinois; sisters: Betty Woodward of Evansville, Indiana and Jewel Johnson and husband Marion of Bloomington, Illinois; daughter-in-law and friend: Barbara Ann Skabialka and Michael of Carnes, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
