Olin Albert Hayes, 91, Route7, died 5:15 am Sept. 6, 1989, at his home.

Mr. Hayes was employed at the Mt. Vernon Car Manufacturing Company for many years and farmed.

He was born Sept. 12, 1897, in Jefferson County, a son of Richard Louis and Rosie Ellen (Lisenby) Hayes.

April 5, 1919, in Mt. Vernon, he married Inez Audra Rogers, who died Dec.7, 1972.

Services will be 10:30 am Friday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Krumeich officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 pm today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hayes is survived by one son, James L. Hayes and wife, Bette, of Hammond, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Gleason (Alice) Fisher of Dix, Mrs. Cyrus (Doris) Wood of Bluford, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Dickey of Bluford, and Mrs. Eugene (Retta) Estes of Mt. Vernon; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hayes was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
