Letitia S. (Pace) Haynes
Mrs. Letitia S. HAYNES died at her home in Ennis, Texas, last Sunday, 12th inst., aged about 55 years. Mrs. HAYNES was a daughter of Joel PACE, late of the county, and was born on the farm where Gen. PAVEY lives, just northwest of the city. She was married to James P. HAYNES, and for many years lived near the Washington County line, and in Ashley. _______ caused by exposure fastened upon her lungs, and about ten years ago Mr. HAYNES moved to Texas for the benefit of her health. Though greatly improve by the change, she was never entirely restored. She leaves her husband and four children - George M., so well known to everybody in Jefferson County, but now of Chicago; James, Edward and Maggie, all grown. Many of our citizens knew Mrs. HAYNES from her childhood and can remember the girl of such diffident manners and of such as to obtain a nickname by which she was better known than by her true name, and which, unlike most nicknames, was truly a title of honor. She was a life-long Methodist.
