Ethel (Barton) Heidler
Mrs. Ethel Heidler, of Route 5, Mt. Vernon, died at 5:10 this morning at the Lowry Nursing Home at the age of 75 years, eight months, and 15 days. She was the wife of Harry Heidler. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal church, of which she was a member. Father Viton will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may call at myers chapel after 4:00 p.m. Sunday. At 9:00 a.m. Monday the body will be taken to the church, to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family would prefer that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to the Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Mrs. Heidler was born April 7, 1887 in Shawneetown, Ill., the daughter of Dr. J. Frank and Eva (Youngblood) Barton. In 1908 she was married, in Mt. Vernon to Harry Heidler, who survives. Mrs. Heidler, a resident of this community for 55 years, was a member of the D.A.R. and the Monday Study Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Kimball of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Frances Hightower of Itta Bena, Miss., Mrs. Harriet Sessums of Annondale, Pa., Mrs. Mary Kessinger of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Mrs. Louise Nelson of Decatur, Ill: 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
