Cora Blossom Herron, 96, of 1028 Hillcrest Drive died at 5:40 p.m. Friday, September 6, 1991, at Parkhill Skilled Nursing Facility in Chillicothe.

Born July 11, 1895, in Mt. Vernon,Il. to John E. and Mary E. Tate Phillips.

She married William C. Herron on May 9, 1914 in Mt. Vernon, Il. He died July 6, 1971. She also was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, five brothers, four sisters and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one sister, Doris Cooley of Serro Gordo, nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was a 51 year member of United Methodist Church of Washburn, Il. and its Ladies Club.

Graveside services will be at 2:45 p.m.Monday at Linn-Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn, the Rev. George Harding officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45p.m. Monday at Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe, with a prayer service at 1:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to her church or to Parkhill Skilled Nursing Facility.
