WALTER HERRON EUREKA, ILLINOIS

Walter W. Herron, 84, 106 S. Darst, died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, November 9, 1986 at Maple Lawn Health Center.

Born February 19, 1902, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Charles and Martha Wilkey Herron.

He married Julia L. Oakes July 5, 1941, in Missouri, she died October 9, 1983.

Surviving are one daughter, Carole J. Herron of Eureka; one brother, Raymond of Sanford, Florida. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.

A veteran of the Army, he was a retired inspector for Caterpillar Inc., in Morton.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday November 11, at his church, the Rev. Frank New officiating. burial will be in Monticello Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, is charge of arrangements.

There will be a memorial service a 1:30 p.m.Wednesday at the Assembly Room at Maple Lawn Health Center, Eureka, the Rev. Robert Harnish officiating. Memorials may be made to his church or Maple Lawn Home, in Eureka.
