William Clark Herron, 80, of 410 W. South street, Washburn, Illinois, died at about 3 a.m. July 6, 1971.

Born April 11, 1891, in Jefferson county near Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Charles W. and Martha J. Wilkey Herron.

He married Cora Blossom Phillips in Mt. Vernon, she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Lois of Washburn, Il., three brothers, Walter of Eureka, Il., Harley of Camp Grove, Il., and Raymond of Sanford, Florida, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Herron was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Herron worked as a farmer and mason helper in his early years and was retired from Altorfer Brothers Company of East Peoria, Ill.

Mr. Herron was a member of the United Methodist Church of Washburn, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. July 8 with visitation 1 hour before at Pacey Memorial Home in Washburn. Burial will be in the Linn-Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Washburn.
