Mary (Loman) Hester
"Aunt" Mary HESTER died at her home on East Third Street in Ina at six o'clock this morning. Mrs. HESTER had been in failing health for the past several months. She was born in Gallatin County, Ill., 83 years ago, and at the age of seven years moved with her parents to the place now owned by Lora DARNELL in Elk Prairie Township. She was the daughter of the Late James and Genetta LOMAN. She was married to William H. HESTER October 3, 1869. He preceded her September 7, 1904. Mrs. HESTER is survived by four daughters, namely: Mrs. Mattie LYNCH, Gentry, Ark.; Mrs. Viana ROBERSON of Ewing; Mrs. Callie HODGE and Mrs. Viola SHAW of Ina; 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and one adopted grand-daughter, Mrs. Pearl ROSEBUD; two sisters, Mrs. Viana WELLS, Christopher; and Mrs. Leota DOUGHERTY, Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. HESTER was held in the greatest respect by all who knew her and was a woman of many virtues. She had been a Christian for over 65 years and belonged to Free Will Baptist Church of Ina. Funeral services will be held at the Free Will Baptist Church in Ina, Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock. Services will be conducted by the Rev. W. R. BURTON of Whittington. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill by the side of her husband., Will HESTER, who was buried 29 years ago.
