James Hicks Of Waltonville Died At Age 56 The Rev. James Walter Hicks, 56, Waltonville, died at 8:30 a.m. Sept 11, 1987, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Hicks was born Sept 18, 1930, in Jefferson County, a son of Travis and Sadie (Dees) Hicks. On Dec 4, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, he married Anna Marie Fairchild, who survives. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Waltonville Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev Geraldine Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Knob Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Fry and Frick Funeral Home in Waltonville and from noon until the funeral at the church. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, James Travis Hicks of Xenia and John Neabuhr of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Smith of Waltonville; three brothers, Robert Hicks, Samuel Hicks and Clifford Hicks, all of Waltonville; a sister, Mrs. Mae Maragni of Waltonville; and six grandchildren. Mr. Hicks was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW 9153 and Disabled American Veterans of Mt. Vernon. He was a Free Will Baptist minister in the Waltonville area for several years and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Nason. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
