Flossie A. (Ward) Highsmith
Flossie Highsmith Mrs. Flossie A. hgihsmith, 86, of Route 7, Mt. Vernon, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospsital Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Myers chapel, with burial in Williams cemetery. Mrs. Highsmith was born in clark county on Dec. 26, 1888, the daughter of George W. and Mary Jane (Miller) Ward. On Jan 3, 1904, in Jefferson county, she married Albert highsmith, who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1964. Mrs. Highsmith was a member of Camp Ground Baptist church. She is survived by two sons, Ray A. Highsmith and Kenneth E. Highsmith, both of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Roy (Opal) Gowler, Mrs. Everett (Nola) Greer and Miss Norma Highsmith, all of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. William H. (Mildred) Crane, Prairie Village, Kan.; one sistger, Mrs. Ella McKibben, Elgin; 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
