Hartley Hilliard, a well known farmer, residing in the Zion neighborhood, died this morning about 8 o'clock.

Mrs. Will Cholemeyer, sister to Hartley Hilliard, went back home Saturday.

Ayro Hartley, son of John D. and Mary Jane Hilliard, was born in Nashville, Ill., June 20, 1859, Died Feb. 26, 1917, age 57 years, 8 months and 6 days.

He leaves one brother, George, of Bellingham, Wash., and four sisters, Mrs. Mercy Cohlmyer, Mrs. Alice Reed, Mrs. Maggie Crowder and Mrs. Lilly Stonecipher to mourn their loss.

His father and mother, also two brothers, John and Dr. H. S. and one sister, Elizabeth Meyers having gone on before, and who welcome him to his heavenly home.

When about five years of age he moved to Richview, Ill., where he was converted at the age of fifteen in a revival meeting at the Methodist Church of that place.

In 1883 he came to this community where the church feels that in his death we sustain a great loss, but that our loss is his precious gain.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. C. Kinison assisted by his pastor, Rev. M. S. Bumpus. Interment at Hopewell Cemetery.
