Mrs. Ruby Dodds Hirons, 83, of Centralia, died at 4:17 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Chapel in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Bayne Wilson will officiate and burial will be in the Knob Prairie Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Hirons was a retired school teacher who formerly resided in Mt. Vernon. She belonged to the Eastern Star and White Shrine and was a member of the First Community Church of this city.

Mrs. Hirons was born June 7, 1885 in Jefferson County, the daughter of David and Olive (Gilbert) Dodds.

On September 26, 1929, she was married to Benjamin Hirons in Waltonville. He preceded her in death in 1929
( marriage date is obvioulsy incorrect. His gravestone shows he died September 21, 1929.).

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lois Tolley, of Centralia, and Mrs. Alma Wieland, of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Thompson and Mrs. Alma Mannen both of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Anna Reid, of Centralia; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren."
