Edith (Mannen) Hirons
Mrs. Edith (Mannen) Hirons, 76, widow of Charles Hirons, died at noon yesterday at her home in Waltonville. The body has been taken to the Fry Funeral home in Waltonville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Hirons was born Jan 18, 1884, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Sidney and Eliza (Stewart) Mannen. On Oct. 9, 1906, she was married to Charles Hirons, who died Feb. 17, 1937. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William Norris of Aruba, British West Indies, and Miss Betty Hirons of Waltonville; two sisters, Mrs. Sona Gee of Waltonville, and Mrs. Ruth Hammons of Carbondale; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Hirons was a member of the Universalist church in Waltonville. Funeral services for Mrs. Edith (Mannen) Hirons will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville with the Rev. Robert Freytag of this city officiating. Burial will be in Knob Prairie cemetery, north of Waltonville. The body will lie in state at the Fry Funeral Home where friends may call at any time.
